Description
W2R 16-100A Automatic Transfer Switch
The W2R automatic transfer switch is a PC-class dual-power transfer device for circuits that require automatic changeover between a normal supply and an alternate supply. It is available with 16A to 100A rated-current options, 2P/3P/4P configurations, AC 110V to 400V rated voltages, and transfer-related times below 50ms.
Automatic Transfer and Return
During automatic operation, the W2R monitors the normal and alternate power sources. If the normal source becomes abnormal, the mechanism transfers the load to the available alternate source. When the normal source recovers, the return sequence is completed according to the product control logic. Transfer, return, return-conversion, and power-off times are each specified as less than 50ms.
Controls, Terminals, and Indication
- Operating mode: front selection switch for automatic/manual operation and a manual operating knob.
- Main-circuit connections: separate terminals for the normal source, alternate source, and load side.
- Status indication: Power A and Power B indicators provide a front-panel source-status reference.
- Auxiliary signaling: two internal relays are listed, each with two sets of changeover contacts for passive signal output.
- Model format: W2R identifies the series, R identifies the rail type, and the selected current level completes the model code. Please contact GEYA for the complete ordering code for your required current and pole configuration.
Normal Installation Conditions
- Ambient temperature from -5°C to +40°C, with a 24-hour average not exceeding +35°C.
- Installation altitude not exceeding 2,000m above sea level.
- Relative humidity not exceeding 50% at +40°C; higher humidity is permitted at lower temperatures, including up to 90% at +25°C.
- Pollution degree 3.
- Vertical installation in a control cabinet or distribution cabinet, with the safety clearances shown in the approved dimension drawing.
Where temperature changes may cause condensation, suitable preventive measures are required. Please contact GEYA for application-specific enclosure, ventilation, safety-clearance, conductor, and upstream-protection guidance.
Installation and Commissioning
- Installation, wiring, inspection, and maintenance must be carried out by qualified electrical personnel with all power sources isolated.
- Before installation, inspect the device for damage and use the manual control to check that the transfer mechanism moves freely.
- Connect the normal source, alternate source, load, and control circuit according to the terminal markings and the product wiring diagram. Please contact GEYA for the wiring diagram that matches your selected configuration.
- Provide suitable upstream circuit protection. The W2R is listed as PC class and is not a substitute for the required short-circuit protective device.
- After wiring, verify source status, transfer direction, load-side operation, indicator behavior, and the automatic/manual selector before placing the system into service.
Maintenance and Storage
The first inspection should be completed within six months after commissioning and at least once per year thereafter. Increase the inspection frequency in dusty, humid, corrosive, or otherwise harsh environments.
- Remove dust and debris and inspect electrical contact parts for deformation, damage, corrosion, or burnt deposits.
- If contact performance requires verification, operate the mechanism several times and measure contact resistance as required.
- After prolonged exposure to moisture, dry and clean the device before use.
- After cleaning, use a 500V megohmmeter to verify insulation resistance of at least 10MΩ between the normal source, alternate source, load-side poles, live parts, and metal plates.
Store the switch under conditions equivalent to its normal working environment and protect it from dust, moisture, and mechanical impact.
