Description

GYL9-B Type B RCCB

The GEYA GYL9-B is a Type B residual current circuit breaker for circuits where the protection design requires detection of sinusoidal AC, pulsating DC, smooth DC, composite-wave and higher-frequency residual currents up to 1 kHz.

Residual-Current Waveform Coverage

Select Type B when the assessed residual-current waveform requires the published coverage below.

  • Sinusoidal AC residual currents
  • Pulsating DC residual currents
  • Smooth DC residual currents
  • Composite-wave residual currents
  • Higher-frequency residual-current components up to 1 kHz

Working Frequency and Detection Band

The circuit working frequency is 50/60 Hz. The up-to-1 kHz value describes the residual-current detection range; it is not the rated supply frequency.

Ratings and Configuration

Catalogue options include 230/240 V or 400/415 V, 16 to 100 A across nine listed current ratings, 30/100/300 mA, and 1P+N or 3P+N. Available combinations depend on the selected order configuration; contact GEYA for the complete ordering matrix.

Installation and Service Data

  • TH35-7.5 DIN-rail mounting and IP20 degree of protection
  • 2.5 N·m terminal tightening torque
  • 1-35 mm² conductor capacity
  • 10,000 mechanical and 4,000 electrical operating cycles

EV Charging Selection Boundary

For EV charging equipment that requires dedicated 6 mA smooth DC detection, select the GYL9-EV. Do not treat the standard GYL9-B as an equivalent substitute for that requirement.

Protection Coordination

The GYL9-B is an RCCB for residual-current protection. Coordinate separate overload and short-circuit protection for the circuit.

Reference Standards and Catalogue

The GYL9-F/B catalogue lists IEC/EN 61008-1, IEC/EN 62423, GB/T 22794 and GB/T 16916.1 as reference standards. Review the GYL9 Type B / Type F catalogue and confirm the required order configuration with GEYA.

FAQs

Which residual-current waveforms can the GYL9-B detect?

The published Type B scope includes sinusoidal AC, pulsating DC, smooth DC, composite-wave and higher-frequency residual currents up to 1 kHz.

Does the 1 kHz value refer to the circuit working frequency?

No. The circuit working frequency is 50/60 Hz. The up-to-1 kHz value describes the residual-current detection range.

Can the standard GYL9-B replace the GYL9-EV for a 6 mA EV charging requirement?

No. Where the EV charging equipment requires dedicated 6 mA smooth DC detection, select the GYL9-EV and follow the charging-system specification.

Which rated-current and residual-current options are listed?

Rated-current options are 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 and 100 A. Rated residual operating current options are 30, 100 and 300 mA.

Does the GYL9-B provide overload or short-circuit protection?

No. It is an RCCB for residual-current protection. Coordinate separate overload and short-circuit protection for the circuit.

Are all rating combinations available?

The published values are catalogue options and do not establish every possible combination. Please contact GEYA for the complete current, residual-current and pole ordering matrix.
