GY-AVC Unified Power Quality Control Device Overview

System Diagram

Stable Voltage & 15% Lighting Savings

The GY-AVC is a Unified Power Quality Control Device (AVC) consisting of an AC-DC-AC converter, a circuit breaker QF, a contactor KM and a compensation transformer, available in 220V single-phase and 380V three-phase versions with rated capacity from 30kVA to 400kVA. This automatic voltage regulation device samples the grid voltage in real time and, once a deviation from the set value is detected, controls the AC-DC-AC converter to output a voltage with the same or opposite polarity as the grid voltage, adjusting the compensation transformer connected in series in the main circuit to keep the load-side voltage stable.

Working Principle

The AC-DC-AC converter employs fully-controlled power electronic devices, enabling bidirectional power flow. The bypass switch switches to the bypass state during maintenance, and the contactor KM disconnects or connects the load under the compensation state. The device monitors whether the grid voltage deviates from the set value in real time and adjusts the magnitude and polarity of the voltage across the series compensation transformer to ensure stability of the load-side voltage.

Key Features

  • Real-Time Control — controls AC-DC-AC converter output voltage to keep the load terminal voltage stable.
  • Stepless Regulation — high regulation accuracy with an uninterrupted regulation process.
  • Phase-Separate Output — compensation amplitude and speed controllable, adapting to severely unbalanced loads.
  • High Efficiency — efficiency ≥95% with harmonic distortion controlled within ≤3%.
  • Modular Converter — easy to maintain with good scalability.
  • Fault Records — fault alarm and memory functions, storing fault records for up to 30 fault days.
  • 7-inch Touch Screen — parameter settings, power information display, fault records and historical curves.

Protection

Integrated protection covers input overvoltage/undervoltage protection, output overvoltage/undervoltage protection, input overcurrent protection, transformer overtemperature protection and output overload protection, improving the reliability of power supply.

Installation

Cabinet-type (integrated) installation with three-phase four-wire (4L) wiring for three-phase models. Cooling by forced air, protection rating IP20, and noise level ≤65dB.

Applications

Suitable for industrial and commercial power systems requiring stable load-side voltage, particularly sites subject to voltage fluctuation or severe three-phase load unbalance.
