GY-ASVG-Cabinet Advanced Static Var Generator Overview

System Diagram

GY-ASVG Schematic diagram

The GY-ASVG-Cabinet is a cabinet-type Advanced Static Var Generator (ASVG) composed of an AC distribution unit, ASVG modules, a monitoring system and auxiliary components, supporting AC220V to AC800V grids with rated capacity from 50kvar to 900kvar. Based on advanced detection and control algorithms for reactive power, harmonics and three-phase active power, this advanced static var generator connects a voltage source converter (VSC) to the grid in parallel via a filter and generates corresponding IGBT drive signals to achieve comprehensive compensation of reactive current, harmonic current and three-phase unbalanced current.

Working Principle

The device connects a voltage source converter (VSC) to the grid in parallel through a filter. Its working principle is to detect the load current in real time and, based on advanced control algorithms for reactive power, harmonics and three-phase active power, generate corresponding IGBT drive signals to achieve comprehensive compensation of reactive current, harmonic current and three-phase unbalanced current.

Key Features

  • Digital Control Core — DSP+CPLD full-digital control core with three-level topology technology.
  • Modular Design — multi-module parallel connection, small footprint and easy maintenance.
  • Structural Design — independent air duct and independent board compartment for stable operation.
  • Multiple Sampling Modes — two external current sampling channels supporting low-voltage/high-voltage side sampling and reactive component compensation.
  • Selectable Modes — any one, any two, or all three of reactive, harmonic and three-phase unbalance compensation.
  • Harmonic Capability — compensation rate ≥95% for 2nd to 50th harmonics, individual rate adjustable.
  • Neutral Line Filtering — zero-sequence current filtering capacity twice that of the phase line (triple customizable).

Protection

Integrated protection covers overload, software/hardware overcurrent, grid overvoltage/undervoltage, grid voltage unbalance, power supply failure, overtemperature, frequency anomaly and short circuit protection. Overload capability is rated at 1.2 times for 60 seconds.

Installation

Supports rack-mount and wall-hanging installation with rear-line entry (rack-mount) or upper-line entry (wall-hanging). Protection rating is IP20 (IP54 available on request), cooling by forced air, and noise level ≤75dB.

Applications

Suitable for industrial and commercial power grids requiring combined reactive power compensation, harmonic mitigation and three-phase load balancing, particularly systems with nonlinear and impact loads.
