Active Voltage Conditioner, ±1% Load-Side Regulation
An active voltage conditioner (AVC) uses contactless AC-DC-AC series compensation to stabilize load-side voltage. GY-AVC and GY-AVC-PLUS serve 220/380 V systems with ±1% output-voltage accuracy, a standard ±20% compensation range, <20 ms response and a customizable −40% to +30% range.
Premium GY-AVC Series
Two Builds, Model-Specific Ratings
The listed standard GY-AVC ratings are 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 200 / 300 / 400 kVA, subject to the voltage configuration; the 220 V single-phase specification is 30 kVA. During service or an internal equipment fault, the built-in breaker-and-contactor bypass connects the downstream load directly to available utility power. It does not provide stored-energy backup during a utility outage.
| Model | Build | Voltage | Rating | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GY-AVC | Cabinet | 220 V single-phase | 30 kVA | AC-DC-AC stepless regulation; built-in bypass |
| GY-AVC | Cabinet | 380 V three-phase | 30–400 kVA | Independent per-phase regulation |
| GY-AVC-PLUS | Multi-function cabinet | 220 / 380 V | 30 kVA (220 V); 30–500 kVA (380 V) | Voltage compensation with selectable reactive-power and harmonic functions; three-phase-unbalance compensation on applicable 380 V configurations |
Standard compensation range ±20% · output-voltage accuracy ±1% · response <20 ms · 7-inch HMI · RS485 communication · installed immediately upstream of the protected downstream load.
Load-Side Regulation at the Installation Point
Long-feeder undervoltage correction
For chronic undervoltage caused by feeder voltage drop, install the active voltage conditioner upstream of the affected load. It regulates the downstream load-side voltage at that installation point; it does not raise the voltage of the entire public feeder.
Tames PV over-voltage
Rooftop-PV backfeed pushes village voltage over limits at midday; the AVC clamps the customer side back within the statutory band without curtailing generation.
No contacts, no wear
The AC-DC-AC stage regulates continuously with no tap switching or moving contacts — no arcing, no maintenance-heavy mechanism, no voltage steps.
Flattens unbalanced phases
Each phase is regulated independently, so single-phase-heavy rural loads no longer drag one phase low while another runs high.
Questions Buyers Actually Ask
What voltage problems does an active voltage conditioner solve?
GY-AVC provides continuous undervoltage and overvoltage correction within its specified input range and regulates each phase independently. Sustained undervoltage from feeder voltage drop is different from a short-duration voltage sag; voltage sag compensation must be selected against the model's response time and sag depth-duration capability.
AVC vs a transformer tap-changer or a new feeder?
A tap-changer regulates in fixed steps, while GY-AVC uses contactless series voltage compensation for continuous load-side regulation. Install the active voltage conditioner upstream of the protected downstream load; it regulates that installation point, not the entire public feeder.
How do I size an active voltage conditioner?
Match the rated kVA to the downstream load being protected, confirm that sustained input variation is within the model's specified range, and allow headroom for load growth. When voltage sag compensation is required, also verify response time and the sag depth-duration capability for the selected model.
Does the built-in bypass provide outage backup?
No. During service or an internal equipment fault, the bypass connects the load directly to available utility input. It does not provide stored-energy backup during a utility outage, so it must not be described as UPS backup.
Need Stable Voltage at the Protected Load?
Send a week of voltage logs from the intended installation point. Our engineers will size the active voltage conditioner for the downstream load and confirm whether the issue is sustained undervoltage, overvoltage or a short-duration voltage sag.
