Project Overview
The Philippines frequently experiences power grid instability due to underdeveloped electrical infrastructure and severe weather conditions like typhoons. While the standard residential voltage is 230V, actual voltage in older communities or during peak hours can drop to a critical 140V. Conversely, thunderstorms and grid restorations often trigger dangerous voltage surges. This volatility causes frequent refrigerator compressor failures, shortens air conditioner lifespans, and fries sensitive electronics. The homeowner required a simple, economical solution to provide comprehensive voltage protection for critical loads without altering the existing distribution box structure.
How the System Works
The upgraded distribution panel integrates GEYA’s GPS-series voltage protectors, MCBs, RCBOs, and ATS to form a robust defense line. The voltage protector continuously monitors the incoming line. If the voltage drops below or spikes above safe operational thresholds, it instantly disconnects the circuit to shield home appliances. Once the grid stabilizes, it automatically reconnects power. The MCBs and RCBOs provide essential overload, short-circuit, and earth leakage protection. Furthermore, the system design ensures a 0-position is maintained to preserve a forced power-off operational environment for safe maintenance.
