DC contactors are a type of relay that allows direct current (DC) electricity to pass through them in only one direction. They are used in applications such as solar photovoltaic systems, battery charging systems, and power supplies.
DC contactors consist of a series of conductive discs (contacts) that are mechanically operated by a handle and spring assembly. The handle moves the contacts so they either close (make contact) or open (break contact). The contacts remain closed as long as the handle is pulled in the “ON” direction, but when the handle returns to its original position, it disengages from the operating mechanism and allows them to open automatically via spring force.
