GEYA Current Transformers for Metering, Protection & Retrofit Panels
Choose the sensing structure around the real job: load-current measurement, residual-current monitoring, protection or retrofit installation. The range covers closed-core, split-core, circular and rectangular formats, backed by in-house engineering and production.
Start with the sensing task
One panel may need two very different kinds of current sensing
GEYA starts CT selection with the sensing task. Choosing by enclosure shape alone can produce the wrong output or protection behavior, so define what the CT must detect before comparing window size and mounting.
Load-current measurement
A current-measurement CT surrounds one conductor and scales the primary current for a meter, relay, controller or monitoring device.
- Confirm primary-current range and secondary output
- Match accuracy, burden and connected device
- Choose closed-core for new wiring or split-core for retrofit
Residual-current monitoring
A residual current transformer surrounds all live conductors of the monitored circuit and detects their vector sum for leakage or ground-fault monitoring.
- Route all required live conductors through the same window
- Match the CT output to the residual-current relay or monitor
- Select window geometry around the cable set or busbar layout
Current transformer range
A practical CT portfolio for new panels and field upgrades
GEYA provides multiple core structures, window geometries and signal formats. Final ratios, accuracy and environmental limits are confirmed against the selected model datasheet.
Compact leakage and ground-fault monitoring around cable groups
Wider cable bundles and busbar-oriented panel layouts
Existing installations where cable disconnection is impractical
Exposed installations requiring an environmental specification review
Large conductors, restricted access and monitoring-system interfaces
Selection guide
Send six inputs for a faster, more reliable CT recommendation
Send these inputs to GEYA with a photo of the conductor route and the receiving device model. That context often prevents avoidable sizing mistakes.
Define the function
Load measurement, residual-current monitoring, protection or a transmitter input.
State the electrical range
Primary current, expected leakage range where relevant, frequency and required secondary signal.
Identify the receiving device
Meter, relay, motor protector, residual-current relay, PLC or monitoring module.
Measure the conductor
Cable bundle diameter, busbar dimensions and the available installation envelope.
Choose the core structure
Closed-core for planned wiring and higher accuracy potential; split-core for retrofit access.
Confirm the environment
Indoor or outdoor use, temperature, humidity, altitude, insulation and local documentation needs.
Featured 45 mm formats
Two new closed-core residual CT housings
The GEYA GCT-Y-45 and GCT-45 both use a 45 mm circular window. The supplied selection material lists matching options up to 100 A; final ratio, output and accuracy must be confirmed for the selected version.
GCT-Y-45
Round housing with front terminal access and base mounting for residual-current monitoring assemblies.
GCT-45
Compact square housing around a circular aperture for integrated panel layouts and stable mounting.
Factory and supply support
From housing design to a complete CT solution
GEYA combines product engineering, in-house injection molding and a wide CT portfolio for distributors, panel builders and equipment manufacturers. This gives buyers a clearer path from application inputs to a manufacturable model.

Quality logic
Specify the interface, then verify the exact model
GEYA reviews the CT and connected device as one measurement or protection chain. Reliable operation depends on matching the output, burden, accuracy and installation conditions across that system.
Magnetic circuit
Closed-core construction removes the installation joint and supports higher accuracy potential when wiring can pass through the aperture.
Signal matching
Ratio, output type, accuracy and burden are checked against the meter, relay, protector or controller input.
Installation fit
Window size, cable bend radius, busbar orientation, terminals and mounting space are reviewed together.
Environmental fit
Temperature, humidity, altitude, enclosure and outdoor exposure are confirmed before choosing a model.
Documentation by model
IEC, CE, RoHS and regional documentation availability is checked for the exact model and destination during quotation.
Appearance control
Country-specific appearance restrictions are reviewed before an order; an alternative housing can be proposed when required.

Current transformer FAQ
Questions engineers ask before selecting a CT
What does a current transformer do?
A current transformer produces a lower, usable secondary signal that represents current in a primary conductor. The connected meter, relay or controller must be compatible with that output.
What is the difference between a measurement CT and a residual current transformer?
A measurement CT normally surrounds one conductor to represent its load current. A residual current transformer surrounds all live conductors of a circuit and detects the vector sum, which is used for leakage or ground-fault monitoring.
Should I choose a closed-core or split-core current transformer?
Choose closed-core when conductors can be routed through the window during assembly and accuracy is the priority. Choose split-core when an existing conductor cannot be disconnected or retrofit time is limited.
How do I choose the CT window size?
Measure the complete cable bundle or busbar, include insulation and installation clearance, and check the available mounting envelope. The smallest window that fits correctly is usually easier to position and stabilize.
Can GEYA customize the CT housing?
Housing design support is available subject to technical, tooling, quantity and country-specific appearance review. GEYA can propose an alternative appearance when a destination-market restriction applies.
Can GEYA provide samples and compliance documents?
Sample support and model-specific documents can be reviewed during quotation. Availability, lead time and applicable IEC, CE, RoHS or regional documentation must be confirmed for the exact model and destination.
Is it safe to disconnect a CT secondary during operation?
For conventional current-output CTs, never leave the secondary open while primary current is flowing. Isolate the circuit and follow the exact product datasheet and local electrical-safety rules.
